With the grace and blessings of Pujya Tai Ma and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji, Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth Jain School (SCVP), London hosted a wonderful and truly amazing Disney themed Family Fun Day event with a huge turnout this year. The fun day is an annual fund-raising event where students, adults, teachers, committee, trustees, volunteers and long-term supporters of SCVP put in a lot of effort in organising the whole event and all for a good cause! And we must not forget our Youth teachers who took on the task of planning and helping in the organising and executing the Fun Day. This year we were raising funds for Gratitude (a local charity in London spreading joy and making a positive impact by fighting hunger and food waste) and for the transformational work done by SCVP London in inspiring children to become good citizens and cultivate habit of selfless giving.
We were blessed to have a wonderful inspirational message from Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji to officially open our Fun Day. We were fortunate to have the local Mayor of Harrow attend and formally light the divo together with Navinbhai Sanghrajka, Chairperson of Veerayatan UK. We also had Lavina Mehta (MBE) attending and representing the Late Mahendrabhai Mehta (one of the founders of Veerayatan UK) and Nishaben Mehta.
The children and teachers planned the activities and ran fun-packed stalls with so much enthusiasm and joy – whether it was playing games, decorating cookies, making bracelets, making thirst quenching fresh drinks etc. This is truly sewa in action and testament to the teachers imparting the value of giving and cultivating that habit with the youngsters at such an early stage. It was truly a magnificent team effort and very much in line with the ethos of Veerayatan’s Sewa pillar! And the parents and friends of SCVP made scrumptious homemade food which was sold on the day – whether pizzas, pau bhaji, bhel, panipuri, Mexican nachos to name a few.
Overall, the event was hugely enjoyable for all who attended and the great effort from everyone helped raise a significant sum of monies to help continue the amazing work of SCVP London where children and adults benefit. We are forever indebted to Pujya Tai Ma and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji for their constant grace and guidance in everything we do.
