Go Green Initiative: Plant a Tree on Your Birthday!

In an effort to promote environmental awareness and sustainability, Tirthankar Mahavir Vidya Mandir, Sanchore, has launched a commendable initiative under the Go Green campaign. The programme encourages students to plant a tree in celebration of their birthdays. Instead of bringing in cakes or distributing sweets, students are invited to plant a sapling in the school garden. The school provides saplings and tools, ensuring every child has access to plant a tree. Students are also responsible for watering and nurturing their trees, with support from the school’s gardening staff. This fosters a sense of ownership and accountability, allowing students to see the fruits of their efforts as their trees grow over time.

This initiative not only enhances the school environment and contributes to environmental conservation but also instils a sense of responsibility about climate change and environmental stewardship in the students from a young age. It has received enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and parents alike, and is an excellent example of how schools can take an active role in fostering environmental responsibility. As this program continues to grow, it will leave a lasting legacy, not just on the school grounds but in the hearts and minds of students for years to come.
