Kishorebhai Shah

Kishorebhai Shah, who is well known to many Veerayatan followers and supporters worldwide, sadly passed away peacefully on 25 February 2023. His association with Veerayatan began when Pujya Tai Ma came to the UK in the mid-1990’s, accompanied by Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji. Kishorebhai attended their lectures and was completely won over by their clear explanation of the Jain philosophy and the message of universal friendship and love. This was the start of his involvement with Veerayatan which continued for the next 25 years. He became a Trustee of Veerayatan UK and made an immense contribution, working on many Veerayatan projects including the exciting fundraising cycling events from London to Paris, London to Amsterdam and Agra to Jaipur and he organised many trips to take children to visit Veerayatan centres in India.

In particular, he played a big role in running Shri Chandana Vidyapeeth. Throughout this very long period he was definitely an inspirational father figure to so many, both young and old, spreading his unique style of happiness and joy.

Former students of SCVP remember Kishorebhai fondly saying of him:

Kishorebhai was a guiding light in our community. Since the first day I met him he always had such a generous heart and warm smiling face, a true beacon for SCVP, welcoming each and every student and parent to walk through the door. His tireless efforts and contribution in every aspect of SCVP from school administration to charity cycling events, his energy never ceased to amaze me. His "keep it up" positive attitude was one we all admired and his heartfelt and sincere words of encouragement have always been with me since I was a young boy.

Kishore uncle has been a constant source of inspiration in our lives and we will forever treasure the invaluable lessons he has taught us simply by the way he led his life – a beautiful blend of religion, meditation, community service, devotion to family, and an abundance of fun.

Veerayatan has truly lost a great friend in Kishorebhai and we fondly remember both Kishorebhai and his wonderful wife Jyotiben (who passed away eighteen months before him) and will keep them forever in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
